Hi, I’m Josh Centers, a tech journalist, book author, and professional prepper.

Since 2013, I’ve been the managing editor of TidBITS, the longest-lasting technology publication on the Internet. I run a site dedicated to helping you pick Apple products, Apple Buying Advice.

I’m also a prepper. I run a little publication called Unprepared.

I’m an author with Take Control Books. I’ve written books about iOS, Apple TV, home automation, the Apple Notes app, and I co-wrote a book about Preview with Adam Engst.

I tweet entirely too much. I should blog more.

I sometimes make YouTube videos about various things, usually tech-related.

I live on a small farm where I garden and raise chickens.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. — Robert A. Heinlein
