A reader sent in a link to this. It’s a nice, short summary of what works about Apple’s design.

In the video, there’s an interesting quote from Jony Ive, taken from his interview with The Telegraph, that hints at his vision of software design:

“Our products are tools, and we don’t want design to get in the way.”

I wouldn’t know what he’s talking about.
